SABO FOUND DEAD IN GARAGE Body Crumpled Up on Seat of Automobile; Engine Stopped. POLICE ARE CALLED, CORONER NOTIFIED Man Is Believed to Have Sought Safety; One Foot on Running Board. Whilst "warming up" the engine In his automobile early this morning preparatory to visiting his daughter's home, August Sabo, 1209 Roe avenue, was overcome by carbon monoxide gas and died before as-sistanco could be given to him. The body, crumpled over in the seat of a coupe parked in the garage back of his home, was found by the daughter shortly before 11a. m. today. Mr. Sabo had promised to put storm windows up at the home of his daughter. Mrs. John J. Myrvold. 222 Howland avenue, and was to have don so this morning. When he did not arrive, the daughter ran over to her parents' place to see what waa delaying him. Her mother told her that Mr. Sabo had left the house about o'clock with the announced Intention or putting up the storm windows for her. Ftoatnd by Daughter. The daughter rushed to the garage, back of the house, opeped the door which waa closed, and found her father crumpled up on the seat of his car. The engine was not running at this time, but was still warm. Mrs. Myrvold called' Officer Otto Hader. who lives adjacent to the Sabo place, and he notified Coroner Klsow. Detectives McEachern and Lutter probed the case for the police department. From the position of the body. Coroner Klsow gives It as his opinion that Mr. Sabo turned on his engine to warm It up before leaving for the Howland avenue address. He evidently noticed that gas fumes were escaping and shut off the engine and then attempted to get out of the car. He was overcome before he could make this move, however. One foot waa on the running board when the body was foifnd. which indicates that the man was trying to get out of the machine, lived Here Many Year. Coroner Klsow ordered the body removed to the A. C. Hanson morgue. Sabo waa 47 years of age and was a member of the Sons of Norway and of the Zlon Lutheran church. Randolph street. He waa employed as a concrete worker and Had been a resident of this city for a considerable time. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. John Myrvold: two grandchildren and three brothers who reside in Norway. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. | ||
